Chevening Scholarship for International Students

The 2018 application for Chevening Scholarship is open for the 2019/2020 academic year. The Chevening Award is for International Students to study a one-year Masters degree in UK. The “Chevening Scholarship” is for students who have leadership potential with strong academic backgrounds.

Level of Study

The scholarship allow students to choose a one-year Masters program at a UK university.

Scholarship Value

The Chevening scholarship covers the following;

• Full tuition fee cover
• Flight to UK and back to your home country after your studies.
• Living Expenses covered
• Seminal and Field trips covered.

Eligibility for the Chevening Scholarship

• You must come from a Chevening-eligible country
• Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has ended
• You must have an undergraduate degree equivalent to UK upper second-class honours degree.
• Must have at least two years work experience
• Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 11 July 2019
• Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 11 July 2019

Chevening accepts English language tests from five providers:

• Academic IELTS
• Trinity ISE II (B2)
• TOEFL iBT
• C1 Advanced (formerly Cambridge English: Advanced [CAE])
• Pearson PTE Academic

Application Timeline

• Applications open at 6 August 2018 12:00 BST
• Applications close at 6 November 2018 12:00 GMT
• From 7 November 2018
  Sifting of applications against eligibility criteria
• Mid-November to December 2018
  Independent reading committees assess eligible applications
• January to early February 2019
  Applicants are shortlisted for interviews by the British Embassies/High Commissions in-country
• By mid-February 2019
  Applicants are notified that they have been selected for interview
• 1 March 2019
  Deadline for applicants invited to interview to submit references and undergraduate certificates
• 4 March to 1 May 2019
  Global interview period
• Early June 2019
  Announcement of interview results
• 11 July 2019
  Deadline for UK university unconditional offers

  2019/2020 Chevening Scholars commence their studies in the UK
