Hong Kong University HKU Dentistry Requirements
Generally, all applicants must satisfy the general eligibility criteria of Hong Kong University. These requirements are;
General academic requirement
The University requires applicants to at least have either SAT / AP, International Baccalaureate Diploma, International A-Level or GCE A-level
For the SAT / AP, applicants must have
- SAT Reasoning Test overall score of 1800
- Redesigned SAT Reasoning Test overall score of 1310
- Score of 6 in Writing, Reading and Analysis
For the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma;
- Applicants must have 30 points out of 45
For the International A-Level or GCE A-Level
- Applicants must have passes in three GCE Advanced Level
English language requirement
Applicants must have good proficiency in English Language. Applicants can proof proficiency in English Language by writing either International Baccalaureate Diploma, GCSE / GCEO, Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English or Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English, SAT Reasoning Test, IELTS (band 6.5), TOEFL (Internet based 93 and 583 for paper based test).
Second Language requirement
Applicants are required to have a second Language other than English to be eligible for HKU program. These language course can be HKDSE, HKALE, HKCEE, GCSE /GCE A-level /IGCSE / GCE AS-level / GCEO, Singapore, International Baccalaureate Diploma, SAT / Advanced Placement.
Other proof of Language will also be considered.
HKU Dentistry Requirements (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)
In addition to the general eligibility requirements, Dental surgery applicants must also achieve the following minimum level requirements;
- English Language (4)
- Chinese Language (3)
- Mathematics (3)
- Liberal Studies (3)
- Two Elective Subjects (3)
Elective Subject Required, applicants must achieve minimum level 3
Integrated Science, Biology, Physics, Chemistry or Combined Science
